MKS says…..:Aged Dhasharatha knew, a descendent in the family was eluding. He would not accept the reality. He propitiated Gods to ensure that he (somehow) begot children. But did he experience pleasant parenthood? Valmiki Ramayana is silent on the subject. No shloka alludes to it. Ultimately, by irony of fate, the son becomes the (indirect) cause of his death. None of the sons were present, beside him, when he breathed his last!

MGH Comments: As this is on Ramayana let us delve a little deeper.In bala-kanda Rama is born in 18th Sarga. No delay Vishwamitra comes in 19th. Sarga. So childhood of Rama is not covered. Then he is with Vishwamitra. He kills tadaka and hunts marreecha,Then Breaks the shiva bow in67th. Sarga.dasharatha comes in 69th. Sarga. Seetha marries in 73rd. Sarga. Balakanda ends in 76th. Sarga. When AYodya kanda starts it is all downhill for Dasharata. So absolutely there is nothing of rama in the entire Balakanda.My theory is the entire Balakanda has been added later. Otherwise why should Ayodyakanda start with saga 1 detailing Rama’s character in Detail.

No wonder Rama curses his father as sensuous person and bemoans that a good son like him has been sent to Forest. Why this anomoly. This is to show that even though rama does not agree with his father and is not in good link with kaikeyi he performs his duty in letter and spirit. In fact through out Ramayana all his near and dear ones are suffering because of relentless pursuit of Dharma by Rama. Be it his father who died or stepmothers or his mother or his wife or his brothers. The path to Drama is strewn with thorns.

Relevance of Manusmriti Today Many people in India are against caste system. It seems to be highly decadent and totally irrelevant today. Many dalits have down cast the Manusmriti by calling it Manuvadi as if Manusmriti is the cause of their sub servant living for so many generations. This is not correct. Basically Brahmins are supposed to go for Theoretical studies and Kshatriyas are supposed to take care of the Kingdom and Vysyas are supposed to do business and bring prosperity to country. Shudras are supposed to improve Technology and Engineering. Even today these sections all prosper in their own trade and have developed core competency to learn and assimilate their subjects. There is no higher or lower status in any religion. For example Brahmins are supposed to live only by begging. There are even limitations to begging. Kings are supposed to support and respect Brahmins. Even today those involved in theoretical studies like say Stephen Hawkins etc. are supported by Govt. agencies. (See more….)
Why it will become more relevant . The society cannot be built without a BASIS. Present type of society is built on high consumption which is beneficial to Capitalist society. But this was acceptable when the white men were looting the whole world and bringing resources to be enjoyed by few. But in today’s world there are no resource available for entire planet. India’s 120 Crores cannot be given what a few white people in Europe are enjoying. To some extent Technology will alleviate this shortage but still there will be shortage. Too much of individual freedom without any responsibility is being projected and the media propaganda is harping on no responsibility for Citizens. This will result in more London type arsons where anarchist are not a few people but entire society.

Relevance of Manusmriti to Ramayana
Relevance of many slokas have already been covered in this blog such as Valivadh, Vibhishana sharanagadhi etc. Many more references have been added in this Manusmriti and linked to Ramayana. It will transpire that Ramayana is just a case study of many edicts as in Manusmriti. Rama is a Dharma upasaka (follower of Dharma).If so what is Dharma that he follows? It will transpire that Manusmriti lines are quoted and Ramayana story is written to elucidate the value of Dharma as enunciated in Manusmriti.

What I told on 5th. May has now come true. The Reddy case has become an embarrassement to Shushma, Jitley, BJP. Under the shadow of Anna, Congress has shot down the BJP in South. Now Yediyurappa is ruing that under the promise that Sheila and even Manmohan will have to resign, he was forced out by his own party. Whoes foolishness is this.
This ia a big game that Congress is playing. they are encouraging RSS to take over BJP under the pretext that there is nobody in BJP to become PM. RSS has fallen flat for it and when BJP was attacking Congress for its china policy, RSS was supporting congress. They (RSS) denigrated all BJP stalvarts .> Called Advani ‘rancid Pickle’. Sidlined Shourie. Insulted and took back Jaswant singh. Sidelined Yashvant Sinha. Brought inexperienced Gadkhari. rubbed in people like Munda. Now all these people have become pro-congress. and are making remarks dictated by Congress. The RSS people are now on the back of BJP like Vetal on Vikram. By 2014 it will all be disastrous. And even before, UP election will put the last nail on BJP. After that if anybody opens his mouth he will have to hang like Vetal

It is in the open now. When SE asia economy collapsed they said no proper regulation etc. Instead the Americans and Europeans created a bubble and looted all the profits and burst the bubble. This has been going on from Margret thathcher’s time. Many people questioned it. But nobody was there to answer. You don’t need to be an economist to understand what happened.
Two world wars and later looting kept them rich for long. Then diverted all productions to SE asia. Some more time was bought. So where is the income. Simple Give loan to anybody and everybody to build house and keep showing huge GNP growth. Then pledge all the loans to insurance. Then sell these insurences to hedge companies. You didn’t undersand. You wont because it is just book entries. I will show you. You give me Rs 100 loan. I promise 10% for 10 years. I give rs. 10 in first year you have reported 10% profit minus some salary and commission .Next year I again give you 10Rs. You are making lots of profit. Sell your shares in premium Give more such loans.You are booming. 3rd. year some of the 10 rs don’t come Just don’t worry it is all insured. Fourth year I stop giving now you have still an asset. But it is called Bad debts (or NPA Non performing assets). Suddenly it all sinks as the insurance companies are broke. 2008 Govt. prints lots of money and saves you( banks). 2011 The end. No source of income It is all debts. And all cash producing cows are in china and SE asia. Well are they not better. No there are somany cows nobody has money to buy milk. China has 2 trillion savings. Yes in US banks and Us Govt. Bonds.
Same case with Europe. Only thing it is messier. A Chinese says “ If I am sick I have to go to hospital and pay. But in Europe the govt pays, in US Insurance company pays, so who is a communist”.
The only safe country is india. We have only 16% of GNP as export. Just enough to import gasoline. This will ofcoures nosedive. Yes but petroleum prices is going down faster.

Why Germany is not shown? Not because she is a lady. Because right through this mess they stuck to production and they are pretty safe. Still German technology rules. In the near future they are again on top. Japan oh this bloody Tsunami!
